Russell — Town Clerks Extracted from "History of the Connecticut Valley in Massachusetts, Volume II," by Louis H. Everts, 1879.       The first report of a town-meeting, as gleaned from the records, is dated April, 1804. There were records of earlier date, but they are not in existence.
