Joseph Gould Scott

Born at Montpelier, Vt., Oct. 16, 1835; graduated at the Westfield Normal School, 1856; teacher in the schools of Massachusetts and at Irving Institute (with David S. Rowe), 1856 - 1861; instructor in the Westfield Normal School, 1861 - 1877; principal of the Westfield Normal School, 1877 - 1887; died at Maniton, Col., May 9, 1889.
